Gilbert Torres |
Gilbert Torres, the band’s bassist, and also indigenous to San Marcos, has a varied performing background that spans 15 years and a multitude of genres that includes roots rock, hard rock, alternative punk, and currently classic rock and rhythm-n-blues. His musical motivation originates from The Beatles, Jimmy Page, and Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple. Initially self taught on acoustical guitar, he picked up bass playing upon the invitation of a friend to join his band as their bass player. As one opportunity led to another, he found himself involved in numerous recording engagements, one in which Van Wilkes sat in on guitar. A memorable performing experience for him is having Clifford Antone compliment his bass and then sitting in with the Killa Hogs. In his leisure time, Gilbert enjoys viewing independent films, listening to a wide array of music, and adding to his Rolling Stones collection.
